For a bit of American history, check out the McDonald's restaurant at 10207 Lakewood Blvd. in Downey. Built in 1953, it was the third McDonald's built and is the oldest surviving McDonald's. Downey is also home to the first Taco Bell restaurant, opened in 1962.
